Day 3
1st October 2016
Andrew picked us up at 10.30 am and we all felt quite refreshed after showers and a fairly good sleep. He took us around the area so that we would have an idea of the layout and then dropped me off with Alison while he, John and David went to arrange the hire of a car for us.
Alison and I had a wonderful time, looking through some memorabilia and photos and talking and meeting and cuddling Rupert (the beautiful Labrador) and we were then joined by the "men" who had picked up our hire car. We had been upgraded to a very nice car with Sat.Nav. so that we could find our way around, but unfortunately our Multi-Card Mastercards that we had put money on for the car, did not work so we had to hit the credit card for the payment (not happy with that as we were assured the cards would work!!!).
We had a lovely lunch of crispy rolls and bread with chicken, cheese, ham and tuna and a glass (or two) of wine and chatted and chatted.
We stayed for the afternoon and Alison had asked Joseph to come around and we all enjoyed an amazing dinner together (oh my gosh, Alison can cook!!!). It was fantastic to see Joseph and catch up on memories with him and hear about his home and Monika (can't wait to meet her tomorrow).
It had rained constantly all day and Joseph needed to leave at about 8.30 pm, so with David driving our car we followed Joseph to a point and then continued on back to Silvertrees following the instructions of the Sat.Nav. We arrived home at just after 9.00 pm and prepared for bed. The Lodge was lovely and warm, but we put the log fire on for a little while to get us all into sleep mode.
