Day 5
3rd October 2016
We got up about 6.30 am (not quite into local time yet!!), and had a nice breakfast of scrambled egg, toast, orange juice and coffee. Just after breakfast we noticed some of the deer had come over to our Lodge so we gathered up some of the food (pellets) and went out to hand feed them. We were totally amazed that the "Daddy" stag had joined the herd, as he doesn't usually come down the hill and we were able to feed him also, it was fantastic.
At about 10.30 am we left to travel to Joseph & Monika's house as we were spending some time with them. Joe showed us around his lovely home, it was really nice and the garden was beautiful. We met Meeka the cat who shared her fur with us all when she sat on our laps - she was very relaxed with us and then after refreshments we went off to see Erasmus Darwin's House, the 3 spired Lichfield Cathedral (which was awesome and jaw-droppingly beautiful) and then a nice lunch at a cafe that had been built in 1510. Monika joined us at this stage and we went through the town and checked out some of the shops, Guild Hall which was once a jail, a Christmas shop that had everything you could ever want to decorate the house and then a walk down to the lake which was full of ducks (unfortunately, we didn't see the swans that usually live there too).
We made our way back to Joe & Monika's and dropped them off and we carried on home to feed the deer (yes, again!!!!) and relax for the rest of the day.
